You may be very familiar with staying in a Bed & Breakfast – although everyone is different which adds to the charm of the experience – or this may be your first time considering such accommodation and the thought of staying in a complete stranger’s home may seem a little daunting, so let us put you at ease with a little information about ourselves and some insight on your forthcoming experience at A Lakeview Heights Bed & Breakfast.
Having grown up at opposite ends of the world - and meeting by chance somewhere in the middle – we have enjoyed an extremely busy and interesting life of international travel, living in various countries, and working together in the hospitality and catering field.
Many years ago we had the opportunity to visit beautiful British Columbia and fell in love with this gorgeous area. While still travelling extensively, we were able to base ourselves in North Vancouver, where we also owned and operated Mountainside Manor B&B for 12 years - yes, it was an extremely busy life! In 2003 we re-located to the amazing West Kelowna area of the Okanagan Valley and after opening A Lakeview Heights Bed & Breakfast in the spring of 2004 we have continued to enjoy meeting guests from around the world.
So just what do we love about the Okanagan Valley which makes us want to share it and our home with you – Everything! This incredible ‘micro-climate’ region gives us the opportunity to do all the things we love – golfing, biking, snowshoeing, skiing, wining and dining, concerts, hockey and lake activities – during 4 distinct seasons (with winter being really short!)
Running a popular and successful Bed & Breakfast continues to keep us very busy, but we love it because it also keeps us young and energetic, and over the years we have made some very special friends who started out as complete strangers at our front door. After serving breakfast each morning, we like to join our guests for a quick coffee and some friendly chatter, getting to know them by swapping stories, ‘solving the world’s problems’, and offering suggestions for their day’s activities, thus creating a more friendly and informative alternative to staying in a hotel.
